David is a native Oklahoman and the third generation of his family to work in the energy industry. He holds a Masters Degree from Chelsea University and managing his family’s business for 20 years, he started ARED Properties, LLC., where for the past 25 years he has managed the company’s mineral and working interests. David also oversees the management of minerals for a variety of clients.

David has been a member of the National Association of Royalty Owners (NARO) for over 25 years and has served in many leadership roles at the state and national level. In 2012, David began his first term as National President of NARO, a position he held until 2014.  In 2020 he served another term as President of NARO National and the NARO Foundation.

David earned his Professional Certified Mineral Manger status from NARO in 2006. A born teacher, David spent several years an adjunct professor at the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma, teaching classes on a variety of oil and gas related subjects. As an advocate for the education of mineral owners, David continues to speak, teach and testify on a variety of mineral management topics nationwide.
