Closeup of oil and gas technicians

Upcoming workshops.

Over the course of the year we offer workshops for industry members. You’ll have the opportunity to earn professional development hours.

OKIES (Oklahoma Oil & Gas Information Exchange System)

July 22 | 10 a.m. | Zoom

This session will introduce operators and stakeholders to the permitting process and provide an open forum for questions and discussion.

What to Expect:

  • Step-by-step walkthrough of the electronic ITD form submission
  • Guidance on best practices for accurate, complete applications
  • Q&A with OCC project staff

Participants are encouraged to bring their questions about the new system and workflows. This is a great opportunity to clarify the requirements in the new system.

Provisions To Consider When Negotiating A New JOA

July 29 | 11 a.m. | In-Person & Zoom

When considering a joint venture between parties, there are many issues to address and understand through the Joint Operating Agreement and its exhibits about sharing revenues and costs related to joint operations. We will discuss those provisions that typically cause the most disagreements between parties and things to consider when negotiating a new JOA.

Xplorobot Handheld Methane Detector

August 5 | 11 a.m. | Zoom

Xplorobot’s laser OGI sensor and software help to detect and verify emission repairs during single pad visits simplifying workflow and lowering operational costs. Xplorobot’s technology ensures thorough accounting of methane emissions to increase revenue. Xplorobot Laser OGI has been approved by the United States Environmental Protection Agency for all OOOOa/b/c inspections, post-flyover survey, post-permanent sensor follow up, and for post-repair verification. The sensor is extremely accurate, detecting methane emissions down to 1 gram per hour. Xplorobot can help lower Subpart-W emissions factors by as much as 20X, and is an approved emission detection method under US EPA 40 CFR Part 98 Subpart W. An OGMP2.0 Gold Standard is attainable by creating a digital database of component emissions. Emissions data is all stored in an easy-to-use dashboard and database with automated reporting and a mobile app for fast and accurate fieldwork.

Dynamometer Pump Card Analysis and Troubleshooting

August 28 | 11 a.m. | Zoom

This dynamometer analysis and troubleshooting presentation for sucker rod produced wells will provide insight into the analysis of wells by using dynamometer cards, with a particular focus on using the diagnostic downhole pump card. Information displayed in surface and pump dynamometer cards plays a critical role in diagnosing issues in sucker rod lifted wells. The presentation explores various aspects of dynamometer card analysis, emphasizing the identification of problems such as incomplete pump fillage, plunger motion irregularities, mechanical friction, and the impact of gas compression within the pump chamber.

BioSqueeze

September 17 | 11 a.m. | In-Person & Zoom

Join us for a workshop on BioSqueeze’s microbial biomineralization process, a technique used to repair fractures or damage in cased hole cement by forming a crystalline calcium carbonate seal. This environmentally friendly approach uses non-pathogenic bacteria and non-hazardous additives, maintaining low viscosity during injection before hardening into a durable, gas-tight barrier. The method is designed to re-seal compromised zones where fluid or gas migration occurs—particularly in cases where traditional solutions may fall short. We’ll explore how this low-pressure, low-risk process offers fast, long-lasting results and enhances well integrity.

Air Regulations Training

September 25 | 11 a.m. | Zoom

Air emission regulations are constantly changing, making compliance more challenging and time-consuming. We’ll help you understand which regulations apply to you, covering both state and federal requirements. Join us to stay up to date on the latest Federal Air Quality Regulations and learn about permitting requirements in Oklahoma and Texas.

SPCC Training

October 23 | 11 a.m. | Zoom

Managing spills and staying compliant with regulations can often be time-consuming and challenging. In this class, we’ll explore the key requirements for facilities to develop, implement, and maintain an effective Oil Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC) Plan.
