Derek Sutton is a seasoned industry leader with 18+ years at ExxonMobil. With a focus on automation and operational efficiency, his career has included operational and leadership support for Upstream assets in Utah, Colorado, Wyoming, and Oklahoma, giving him a strong understanding of diverse regulatory, geological, and operating environments.

Derek moved to ExxonMobil’s Ardmore, Oklahoma office in June 2021, where he serves as the Oklahoma Operations Manager. In this role, he leads large teams of professionals and field employees and manages large‑scale operating budgets. His tenure has been marked by transformative initiatives, including spearheading digitization efforts that streamlined operations and delivered significant cost and time savings.

Derek has been married for 15 years and has three daughters. His values of teamwork, discipline, and resilience are shaped in part by his experience playing collegiate basketball at Dixie State College in St. George, Utah.
