Cushing Lower Elementary’s Aryn Gaskins Selected as a Top Ten Teacher of 2022

The people of Oklahoma Oil & Natural Gas have awarded Cushing Lower Elementary teacher Aryn Gaskins with $5,000 dollars for being recognized as one of the Top Ten Teachers of 2022.

Gaskins was selected out of more than 200 nominations for her outstanding work in engaging her kindergarten students.

“Ms. Gaskins takes time to build relationships with each of her students. She knows what our son loves and uses that to motivate him inside the classroom,” said Cushing Lower Elementary parent Jodie Shupe. “She loves her job and her enthusiasm for learning is contagious.”

Cushing Lower Elementary will also receive $2,000.

“One of our core missions is supporting education,” said Oklahoma Energy Resources Board Executive Director Mindy Stitt. “The people of Oklahoma Oil and Natural Gas are passionate about recognizing teachers for their efforts in creating the next generation of leaders.”

In addition to voluntary education contributions, the oil and natural gas industry contributed more than $19 million in ad valorem taxes to Payne County in 2020.

The OERB is funded by the more than 2,500 producers and thousands of royalty owners across Oklahoma through a voluntary one-tenth of 1 percent assessment on oil and natural gas production. The mission is centered around a simple idea: empowering unlimited opportunity for all Oklahomans. We are committed to the wellbeing and prosperity of all.
