Greg Shepherd’s career with Mewbourne Oil Company (“MOC”) began as a student at Shawnee High School in 2003, when he was awarded the Mewbourne Leadership Scholarship to study petroleum engineering at the University of Oklahoma. After working as an MOC intern throughout his time at OU, Greg joined the company as a drilling and completions engineer in Perryton, Texas, following his graduation in 2007. He spent the next several years in various MOC offices until being transferred to Oklahoma City in 2012.  In 2018, Greg was promoted to his current role as District Exploration Manager.  In his position, he works alongside a team of geologists, landmen and engineers with a focus on oil and natural gas prospects across western Oklahoma.

Greg has served as a member of the Petroleum Alliance Board of Directors since 2016. He currently serves on the Education Committee for the OERB and is a member of the Industry Advisory Board to the Mewbourne College of Earth and Energy at the University of Oklahoma.
