David Sikes is a native Oklahoman and the third generation of his family to work in the energy industry. After earning an MFA from Chelsea University and managing his family’s business for 20 years, he is now a principal with Jeroco, Inc., where for the past 16 years as Director of Operations he has managed the company’s mineral and working interests. Sikes also oversees mineral management for a variety of clients. Sikes has been a member of the National Association of Royalty Owners (NARO) for many years, and he has served in a number of important leadership roles. In 2012, Sikes began his tenure as National President of NARO, a position he held until 2014. He is also a member of the OK-NARO Board, having served two terms as OK-NARO President. He currently serves on the NARO Foundation Board and Royalty Owner and Producers Education Coalition Board (ROPE Co.). David earned his Professional Certified Mineral Manager status from NARO in 2006. He serves on the Board of the Grady County Mineral Owners Association. A born teacher, David is an adjunct professor at the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma. As an advocate for the education of mineral owners, David continues to speak, teach and testify on a variety of mineral management topics nationwide.
