Congratulations Safety Poster & Coloring Contest Winners!
Congratulations Safety Ad Campaign Winners!

For the first time this year, the OERB expanded its annual Well Site Safety contest to grades 7 through 12 by introducing an advertising campaign contest. Students in those grades can enter as groups or individuals in two divisions, junior high and high school. Entries have to focus on educating fellow students about the dangers of well sites and why it is important to avoid them. All entries are required to include an original catch phrase in the campaign and should incorporate items like print ads, bumper sticker designs, tee shirt designs, bookmarks and other materials.

7th-9th Grade Winners
Title: Get The Scoop.
School: Western Heights Middle School
Designers:  Holly Carlile & Hayle Carlile

Holly and Hayle put together a great campaign centered around "Getting the Scoop."  Their campaign included lots of fun ways to use ice cream to communicate the importance of staying away from dangerous well sites. From t-shirts and buttons to free coupons for ice cream cones, these girls used creativity in designing a campaign that communicated the importance of well site safety in a message that's sure to get your attention.

10-12 Grade Winners
Title: What Not To Play
School: Mannford High School
Designers: Katie Carr & Stoney Bevard

Katie & Stoney took something many students use on a daily basis and made it a tool for spreading the message of well site safety.  "What Not To Play" included a lot of great ideas for using the iPOD to teach students about the dangers of playing near well sites.  The campaign brochure included a t-shirt design, newspaper ad and bookmarks to hand out to the school.
