Little Bits for Elementary Students

This hands-on, six-week curriculum makes it fun for students in grades kindergarten through second to learn basic concepts about well site safety, rock formations and the types of products made from petroleum.

Each class that completes the Little Bits curriculum will receive a free field trip from the OERB to one of six participating museums. Students will see an exciting energy exhibit sponsored by the OERB and be treated to a free energy class at the museum.

Developed by Oklahoma elementary school educators, industry professionals and OERB representatives, the Little Bits curriculum provides everything a teacher needs, including a free teacher's guide and activity kit.

To acquire the Little Bits curriculum, teachers must attend a day-long workshop. The workshops are free, and the OERB reimburses school districts for substitute pay. If a workshop is held on a Saturday or non-school day, the OERB pays a $50 stipend for attending. Educators completing the workshop receive five (5) Professional Development Hours. Find information on workshops in your area.
