Safety Contest

Well site safety is important. Your students can participate in the OERB's Well Site Safety Contest for a chance to win cash prizes and be recognized at the Oklahoma State Capitol.

Each year the OERB holds a contest to help inform students about well site safety. Students will be asked to fill out a coloring sheet, draw a poster or create an advertisement telling others about the dangers of playing around well site equipment. The best part is, the messages are created by students, for students. And this year, the OERB has expanded its annual contest to include all students from grades kindergarten through 12th grades! The OERB will recognize the winners at the official Well Site Safety Day at the State Capitol and with other prizes.

Well Site Safety Day 2010
Well Site Safety Day 2010 was a blast!  Dozens of teachers, students and parents from across Oklahoma made their way to the Oklahoma State Capitol.  There each of this year's winners were recognized for their achievement.  Awards were given to the three most creative Well Site Safety posters as well as nine for honorable mention.  This year, the OERB also added the Well Site Safety Day coloring contest for grades kindergarten through 2nd grade.  Three winners were chosen from each of the grades.  While at the Capitol, students received a memorable goody bag, autographs from OERB's Petro Pete and got to meet their local legislators.  As a bonus reward to the students, teachers and the families, all the winners are invited to a complimentary trip to the Oklahoma City Zoo following their visit the the Capitol.
